10 Videos of Patagonia You Must Watch Before You Die

Patagonia is a land of inspiration, even for everyday travelers like you and me. And one of the good things about the 21st century is that you don’t have to work for the BBC or National Geographic to make great content. If you’re creative and inspired, you can do it (even with a cheap camera). The list below features the most epic videos about Patagonia – the southern tip of South America – made by travelers and showcasing incredible outdoors, soul-stirring stories, and magic storytelling of this stunning part of the world.

I) Patagonia 8K

Probably the highest quality timelapses you will ever see, featuring timelapse photography in both Argentina and Chile. These guys (TimeStorm Films) keep traveling around the world to create insane timelapses in 4K and 8K – the highest resolution available on Youtube.

II) Climbing Riders on the Storm (Torres del Paine NP, Chile)

Maybe the most incredible climb in Patagonia ever caught on Camera. In 2016, Climbers Mayan Smith-Gobat and Ines Papert became the first female as well as the fifth known ascent of Riders on the Storm, exactly 25 years after the first ascent of this historic route in Torres del Paine National Park.

III) Sol et Ciel | Patagonia Timelapse

This Music Video by composer Timothy Dhalleine is the demonstration music and nature make the perfect wedding. Featuring breathtaking timelapses in both Chile and Argentina, epic sunrises and sunsets, and some enchanting music live in Torres del Paine National Park.

IV) Chile, a Land Of Contrast : Patagonia

From the mystic woods and rivers of the Aysen region to the granite peaks of Torres del Paine National Park, experience some of the wildest sights of Chilean Patagonia.

V) A Story for Tomorrow

A story told by travelers and featuring Chile from North to South. Impossible to remain insensitive to this beautiful storytelling that basically shows you what traveling is all about.

VI) Follow Your Way : Chile

Polish traveler Bartosz Lisek went for a trip of a lifetime while cycling for months throughout South America. On his 4-month journey through Chile, he cycled from the immensity of the driest desert on Earth – Atacama – to the giant glaciers of Patagonia. Super storytelling, epic moments captured on camera.

VII) Hiking Los Dientes de Navarino in One Minute

Hiking in Patagonia is not just about National Parks such as Torres del Paine (Chile) and Los Glaciares (Argentina). There are remote yet epic treks and “Los Dientes de Navarino” – the southernmost trek on Earth – is one of them.

VII) Hiking the Towers

A short video about the W Trek – the most iconic trekking route in Patagonia – that features cinematographic footage of the epicness of the giant mountains of the most famous National Park at the world’s end.

IX) The Thousand Year Journey : Oregon to Patagonia

Storyline : “Jedidiah quit a job that he loved to ride his bicycle from Oregon to the southern tip of South America. Filmmaker Kenny Laubbacher joined him for his month-and-a-half long journey to find out why.”

X) Deeper Than Nature

This video made by EcoCamp Patagonia – the first geodesic hotel in the world – underlines transformational travel with travelers’ stories that make this video a very emotional piece of art. Simple yet beautiful.

About Timothy Dhalleine

Driven by an insatiable wanderlust, I have left my native Hesdin in the north of France in a bid to uncover the tales the soaring peaks of Patagonia and the immensity of the Chilean desert have to tell. I am currently exploring the magic of Torres del Paine National Park, while reaffirming my ideal of a more sustainable world and my passion for nature as Guest Engagement Manager of Ecocamp Patagonia.
